Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is facing new allegations from the mother of one of his children.
In new court documents that were obtained by In Touch, a 37-year-old woman named Ayesha Howard said she conceived a child with Edwards after Edwards “initiated unprotected sex and unilaterally removed a condom during intercourse without my consent.” Howard made the claim in response to Edwards’ attorneys saying Howard tracked her menstrual cycle and deliberately got pregnant when Edwards did not want to have a child with her.
A DNA test confirmed that Edwards is the father of the child, who was born in October 2024. Howard filed a paternity suit in California, but Edwards has argued that she lives in Georgia and only filed in California in hopes of securing a more favorable child support arrangement.
In her new filing, Howard included a screenshot of a text message where she allegedly asked Edwards why he removed a condom during sex. In the exchange, Howard asks Edwards, “You don’t like condoms?” Edwards replied with, “I do but not those ones.” Howard told Edwards she let it happen because she likes him but said she is “hoping you have some discipline with your lifestyle and all.”
Howard is at least the third woman who has made allegations against Edwards related to having a child with the 23-year-old. She also shared a screenshot of an alleged text message where Edwards told her to get an abortion. Edwards was accused in 2023 of saying the same to a different woman and issued a statement after the screenshot was made public.
A third woman accused Edwards of being a deadbeat dad in a social media post last year in which she also shared screenshots of alleged text messages between her and the three-time All-Star.
The Timberwolves have advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the second straight year after they defeated the Golden State Warriors in five games in the second round. Edwards has averaged 26.5 points per game in 10 playoff contests thus far.
