
Alexander Alexeyev is having a rough time not playing hockey.
The Washington Capitals defenseman was arrested over the weekend after allegedly taking part in a fight while under the influence.
Alexeyev was pepper-sprayed and arrested on Saturday, according to a report from ARLnow.
Alexeyev was reportedly seen fighting with another man in Clarendon on Saturday, and things got so out of hand that cops were forced to use pepper spray to break up the fight. He was treated on scene by medics for pepper spray exposure.
Alexeyev was booked at the Arlington County jail at 4:19 a.m. on Saturday, per Arlington Now.
Alexander Alexeyev was charged with public intoxication, according to Arlington County police. He would soon be released from custody.

A court date is not yet known.
The Washington Capitals provided a statement to FOX on Monday: “We are aware of the situation involving Alexander Alexeyev and in the process of gathering additional information.”
The 25-year-old was Washington’s first-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. In 2021, Alexeyev made his NHL debut and has played 80 games for the Capitals since then.
Alexeyev is slated to become a restricted free agent this summer.
