Tyrrell Hatton hot mic moment

Tyrrell Hatton was feeling very frustrated during the first round of the PGA Championship on Thursday, and ESPN viewers got an earful of that.

Hatton uncorked a poor tee shot on the 17th hole at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, N.C. on Thursday. The shot missed the green, and Hatton responded by uncorking an F-bomb on a hot mic.

“That is the worst f—ing,” Hatton said before the microphone was wisely cut off.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt could be heard trying not to laugh as he simply pivoted to the 18th hole, but he did not actually acknowledge the on-air F-bomb in any other way.

Everyone should probably know what they are risking by putting Hatton on a live microphone. This is not the first time something like this has happened, and he has at times attracted scrutiny for his on-court temperament.

Despite his anger, Hatton actually had a pretty solid first round. He was at -3 through 16 holes, leaving him three shots off the lead at that point. Of course, a bad tee shot like this one risked him losing ground on the leaders, hence his frustration.
