Kayla Nicole is the ex-girlfriend of NFL star Travis Kelce. She is tired of being reminded of it.
Nicole is over being referenced as Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend and is ready for the day that people “have to stop calling [her] someone’s ex.”
The sports journalist recently reflected on speaking freely about her past relationship with the NFL star during an “Second Wind” podcast appearance.
“You sit down and you do an hour-long interview with someone, and the headline is maybe one sentence that you said. Yeah, I was heartbroken and devastated because I went through a breakup, and that’s the headline,” Kayla told hosts Marion Jones and Suzanne Evans.
“Like so-and-so’s ex is devastated still, and she’s sad and she’s depressed. It’s like, damn, girl, did you listen to anything?”
Kayla Nicole says she takes the chatter with “a grain of salt,” but she reminded fans that “they’re going to have to just let it go.”
“Until then, I’m going to ride this off into the sunset,” the Savage Fenty model added.

“I want you all to report on me and the things that I’m doing and not have any correlation or connection to someone in the past because really and truly at the end of the day, if I choose to share my story, it’s because I’m sharing it because I think that someone needs to hear it.”
Kayla and Travis were on-again, off-again between 2017 and 2022. Many assumed that they would eventually find each other again, but all hope faded once he began a relationship with Taylor Swift.
Nicole made headlines when she broke her silence on the three-time Super Bowl champion’s relationship with Taylor. She was forced to do so because social media kept bringing her up.
“It’s always been really important for me to use my platform not to create division, but to elevate and unite women. Black women specifically,” Kayla said via Instagram in October 2023.
“So, I prepared a letter and would like to share it with you today.”

On a new episode of her podcast, The Pre-Game, Kayla Nicole spoke about her past relationships and agreed with her guest that there isn’t necessarily only one perfect match for each person.
Nicole noted that she believes that idea “does a disservice to women.”
The podcaster concluded that she does believe people have “multiples” of matches, “but alignment is what really matters most.”
Kayla Nicole maintained that the public “won’t ever see me with a man ever again until I’m married with kids.”
