10 Biggest NFL Names That Are Most Likely Still To Get Cut This 2026 Offseason

There has been no shortage of notable NFL players who got released in cap-saving moves at the start of the offseason. That list included Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, Jawaan Taylor, Joe Mixon, and Stefon Diggs. But don’t think for a second that the big-name offseason roster cuts end there. Many teams are strategically waiting until June 1st to release certain players, knowing they’ll save more in cap space. With that, let’s dive into the 10 biggest NFL names most likely to still get cut this offseason. Which popular NFL players might get cut this offseason? Brandon AiyukBrandon Aiyuk (Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports) The Aiyuk-49ers saga is unlike any other we’ve seen. In the 2024 NFL offseason, he agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $120 million, weeks after initially requesting a trade. He got off to a slow start that year, then suffered season-ending ACL and MCL tears in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers expected their superstar wide receiver to return at some point in the 2025 season while they were in an intense playoff push. But Aiyuk reportedly refused to train with his teammates as he was getting healthier, preferring to keep to himself. Sure enough, the season passed with no return of Aiyuk. GM John Lynch then publicly stated that Aiyuk had played his last game as a 49er, all but assuring a divorce. Cutting Aiyuk would save the 49ers $6.3 million in 2026, $33.1 million in 2027, and $34.987 million in 2027. And by the way? The 49ers don’t exactly need Aiyuk anymore after signing future Hall of Famer Mike Evans and using the No. 33 pick on Ole Miss wideout De’Zhaun Stribling. Aiyuk once looked like a player who was on a Hall of Fame trajectory. He’ll either be traded or cut by the 49ers before Week 1 rolls around. It’s a matter of when, not if. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images Before the 2025 NFL trade deadline, Kamara said he would retire if the New Orleans Saints traded him. Even with New Orleans well out of playoff contention, Kamara made it clear that he wasn’t interested in chasing a ring elsewhere. But it’s not up to Kamara if he plays in New Orleans next season. The Saints signed former Jacksonville Jaguars star running back Travis Etienne Jr. to a four-year deal worth $48 million, another clear indicator they don’t plan to keep Kamara around long-term. Cutting Kamara would only save the Saints $376,000, essentially pocket change. But this is a team in transition mode, having already bid farewell to other fan favorites like Cameron Jordan, Demario Davis, and Marshon Lattimore. The Saints would not have thrown money at Etienne if they weren’t planning to make him their RB1. Kamara isn’t a young man anymore at 31, either. We can’t imagine he’d be happy to take on an RB2 role, given all he’s done for the New Orleans organization. If Kamara won’t accept a trade, the Saints’ best bet is to cut the five-time Pro Bowler and let him decide if he’d actually retire. Either way, nobody should be surprised if Kamara is let go before the preseason rolls around. Mandatory Credit: Ken Blaze-Imagn Images Don’t let a third straight Pro Bowl nod deceive you. Ward has been on the decline for a couple of years. He’s just lucky that Pro Bowl voting is largely a popularity contest Few cornerbacks were as elite as Ward from 2018 to 2023. In each of his first six seasons, he allowed a passer rating of 78.3 or lower, according to Pro Football Reference. That included a hilarious 56.2 passer rating in 2023. Inexplicably, Ward’s regression began in 2024 — after arguably the best season of his career. He allowed 716 yards in coverage and a passer rating of 92.8. In 2025, he allowed a career-worst 61.3 completion percentage when targeted and a passer rating of 88.1. Thanks to the stupid Deshaun Watson trade and contract, the Browns are in a salary cap predicament this NFL offseason. One easy way out of this mess? Releasing the veteran cornerback. Doing so would save the Browns $17.4 million for 2026 and a whopping $20.5 million for 2027. Cole KmetSep 28, 2025; Paradise, Nevada, USA; Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet (85) misses a throw during the first quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images Many were surprised when the Chicago Bears used their 2025 first-round pick on Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. They already had plenty of pass-catching weapons, including veteran tight end Cole Kmet. Turns out, the Bears knew what they were doing the entire time. Loveland finished the year with 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns — all tops on the team. His contributions helped Caleb Williams enjoy a breakout year, guiding Chicago to an NFC North division crown and a surprise trip to the Divisional Round. While Loveland enjoyed a superb rookie year, Kmet’s production dropped significantly. He finished with just 30 receptions for 347 yards and two touchdowns.  Kmet has two years remaining on a $50 million extension he signed in the 2023 NFL offseason. Cutting him would only save the Bears $2.35 million against the cap for 2026, but that number increases to $10 million for 2027. Absolutely worth it. Kmet’s role is only going to continue reducing while Williams forms better chemistry with young studs like Loveland, Rome Odunze, and Luther Burden.  Ideally, Chicago would find a taker for Kmet and get something in return. Otherwise, it only makes sense to cut Kmet and save the cap space. The offense will be more than fine without him. Mandatory Credit: Denny Medley-Imagn Images The Kansas City Chiefs already made one notable roster cut, moving on from veteran offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor. That was at the start of the new league year. By no means should one believe that GM Brett Veach is done clearing out cap space. Last year, the Chiefs signed former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Kristian Fulton to a two-year deal worth $20 million. Fulton struggled in his transition to Steve Spagnuolo’s defensive scheme and was limited to eight games in 2025 due to injury. Kansas City remade its cornerback room in the NFL offseason. They traded Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams and let Jaylen Watson walk to free agency. KC then moved up to take LSU corner Mansoor Delane with the No. 6 pick. Cutting Fulton would save the cap-strapped Chiefs $5 million before the 2026 season. That cap space could be used for Veach to bring in another serviceable veteran or two before preseason begins. Plus, the Chiefs always seem to develop rock-solid cornerbacks out of nowhere. The rest of their CB room outside of Delane and Fulton may be filled with nobodies. But cutting Fulton is worthwhile if it means saving precious cap dollars. Veach can just trust Spags and Andy Reid to develop quality replacements, too. Mandatory Credit: Peter Casey-Imagn Images Queen had four up-and-down seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, who decided the bad outweighed the good. He left in 2024 free agency, signing with the archrival Pittsburgh Steelers on a three-year deal worth $41 million. Queen was supposed to add more juice to a stacked Pittsburgh front seven already featuring TJ Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Cameron Heyward. He had a solid first year with the Steelers, but regressed miserably in 2025 to finish the year with a Pro Football Focus grade of 44.0. Pittsburgh’s expensive and underperforming defense needs a reset, and cutting Queen could be the starting point. If the Steelers cut him, they would save a hefty $10.8 million against the salary cap. If GM Omar Khan can find a taker via trade, Pittsburgh would save $13.3 million. The reality is, Queen’s inconsistent production doesn’t justify his hefty salary. And new Pittsburgh head coach Mike McCarthy wasn’t here when Pittsburgh signed Queen. If he doesn’t think the two-time Pro Bowler fits, the Steelers have no reason to keep him. It feels like the Steelers are ready to rebuild from scratch when Rodgers inevitably retires next year. [Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union] Following his release from the 49ers in 2024, Armstead was scooped up by the Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year deal worth $43.5 million.  After a miserable 2024 campaign, the veteran defensive end bounced back nicely with 5.5 sacks — his best since 2021 — helping the Jags to a surprise 13-win season and AFC South division crown. But the fact remains that Armstead makes too much money for a non-Pro-Bowl-caliber defensive lineman. And the Jaguars would save $14.48 million if they cut him before the regular season. Jacksonville already has two premier edge rushers in Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen. Rookies Albert Regis and Wesley Williams could seek meaningful reps as well if the Jaguars were to cut Armstead. And shed no tears for Armstead if the Jaguars decide to cut him in the 2026 NFL offseason. He would draw plenty of interest from other teams. Marlon HumphreyMarlon Humphrey. Credit: Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images Humphrey was once in the discussion as the NFL’s best cornerback. The 2017 first-round pick has been a mainstay in the Baltimore Ravens’ secondary, earning four Pro Bowl and two First-team All-Pro selections. But as everyone knows, the Ravens’ usually-stingy defense kept getting worse and worse under John Harbaugh before he was fired after the 2025 season. And Humphrey’s inexplicable regression was a key reason why the Ravens couldn’t hold onto double-digit fourth-quarter leads to save their lives. According to Pro Football Reference, Humphrey allowed 920 yards in coverage and an 84.6 passer rating when targeted. Numbers like that would get a cornerback benched mid-season on most teams. Just saying. The Ravens have a problem with being too loyal to certain players. Look at Mark Andrews, who just got a three-year extension even though he hasn’t been a difference-maker since 2022. And it’s amazing how long Rashod Bateman has lasted with “checks notes” one good season in five years. At some point, the loyalty thing has to go out of the window. They can at least start now. Cutting Humphrey, who’s entering the final year of his contract, would save Baltimore $15.2 million against the cap in 2026. And yes, the Ravens’ secondary should be just fine with Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, and Nate Wiggins leading the way. The one-time Pro Bowler has lived up to the first two seasons of a three-year deal he signed with the Tennessee Titans in 2024 free agency. Pollard has proven that he wasn’t a product of the Dallas Cowboys system, recording consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons in Tennessee. But Titans GM Mike Borgonzi wasn’t here when the Titans signed Pollard. And Borgonzi just hired a new head coach in Robert Saleh, with ex-New York Giants HC Brian Daboll taking over as the new OC. So, the loyalty aspect doesn’t apply here. Cutting Pollard would save the rebuilding Titans $7.25 million against the salary cap. They also have veteran Tyjae Spears waiting for a bigger role. Also, Borgonzi used a fifth-round pick on Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton. We doubt the Titans would draft Singleton to simply be a No. 3 running back. Pricy veterans with plenty of mileage are hard to trade. If the Titans could find someone to take on the last year of Pollard’s contract this NFL offseason, great. But that’s much easier said than done. So, Tennessee may as well cut Pollard and use an RB-by-committee approach with Spears and Singleton. With Pollard getting up there in age, he might even welcome a fresh start if it allows him to play on a more competitive team. Not like the Titans will do much in 2026. Richardson lost his starting job to free agent signing Daniel Jones last year. With Danny Dimes putting together a career year before his season-ending injury, an A-Rich trade felt inevitable. And yet, it still hasn’t materialized. How much has Indy given up on Richardson? So much so that they brought a 44-year-old Philip Rivers out of a five-year retirement to take over as the QB1 after Jones tore his Achilles. The Colts gave Richardson permission to seek a trade before the new league year began. But even with the draft well behind us, the No. 4 pick of 2023 is still on Indy’s roster. Indy seems to like Riley Leonard as a backup to Jones. So, unless they find a trade partner for Richardson, the Colts should do the right thing and release him. There is no benefit to keeping around a young QB who needs a fresh start that would just leave in 2027 free agency anyway.

10 NFL Players Could Be Traded During the 2026 Draft—Some Names Will Shock You

Drafting rookies isn’t the only moves that happen during draft night, as some NFL teams make serious trades to move up in the draft and trade away veteran talent to championship contenders. An example of this is when A. J. Brown was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 18th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft to draft Treylon Burks.  Another great example of trading key veterans during draft weekend was back in 2007, when the Oakland Raiders traded Randy Moss to the New England Patriots for a fourth-round draft pick.  Veteran NFL players get traded on draft night to free up salary cap space to make room for younger talent on rebuilding teams, while teams that trade draft capital for talented veterans are in win-now mode. Here at TPS, we’re going to look at 10 NFL Players who could potentially get traded during the 2026 draft and how everything would work for both parties. Which players could be on the move in the 2026 NFL Draft? Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images Lawrence has been one of the best defensive players the New York Giants have drafted in recent years and has become a three-time Pro Bowler. Lawrence has requested a trade from the Giants, as he’s dealing with a contract impasse, as he wants to be one of the highest-paid defensive tackles in the league. One team that could trade for Lawrence’s services would be the Minnesota Vikings, as they need a reliable defender in their pass-rush. They could give up a first, second, or third-round pick for his services. Another team that could try to trade for Lawrence on draft night is the Chicago Bears, as they could swap first-round picks with the Giants to move up and throw in a second or third-round pick for his services. They have the lowest current cap space in the league, and could easily give Lawrence a contract extension he truly desires. The Kansas City Chiefs potentially making a trade for Lawrence during draft night is also possible, as they can trade some of their extra first-round picks to the Giants, get Lawrence, and pair him up with Chris Jones and watch him flourish under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s system. Similar to the Bears, the Chiefs could give Lawrence an extension that would satisfy him if they decide to trade for him. Mandatory Credit: Peter Casey-Imagn Images Queen was the Steelers’ free agency prize back in the 2024 offseason, as he made the 2024 Pro Bowl and helped the Steelers reach the playoffs twice so far during his tenure. However, Queen currently has a 44 grade from Pro Football Focus, putting him at the bottom 10 amongst linebackers from the 2025 season.  Even though Queen contributed well during the 2025 season with 120 tackles, a sack, four pass deflections, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, he missed 31 tackles, has shown regression in his play, and has an expensive contract. The Steelers could trade Queen on draft night, as they’re looking to potentially rebuild for the 2026 NFL season, and it could allow Queen to rebound from the 2025 season and flourish in a new defensive system.  A team that would love Queen’s services would be the Dallas Cowboys, as they need a new linebacker in the pass-rush, as their defense struggled during the 2025 season.  If the Cowboys can’t draft a linebacker, cornerback, or safety, then the door opens up for them to make a deal with the Steelers and potentially trade away a second and/or later round draft picks to the Steelers for Queen. Credit: Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn Images The Raiders attempted to trade Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens before the offseason began, but as we all know, that trade fell apart when he failed his physical, and the Ravens were concerned about the long-term ramifications of his knee surgery. Even though Crosby is still a Raider for now, one crazy trade for draft capital may entice the Raiders to make a deal. It’s unlikely the Raiders will deal the first overall pick to any team in the coming days before the draft, but anything can happen on draft night.  If the Raiders do trade Crosby away and keep the first overall pick (if they choose to draft Fernando Mendoza), they could load up on draft capital from the 2026 and possibly the 2027 NFL Drafts and surround Mendoza with young talent for him to work with.  The Chicago Bears would be a great team to trade Crosby to, as they’re looking for some new defenders to strengthen their unit. Plus, having Crosby paired up with Montez Sweat would make their pass-rush scary and dangerous. The Dallas Cowboys have been linked to Crosby for a while, and the opportunity to possibly trade for him would be massive, as all they would need to do is trade their first-round pick and possibly a couple of other later-round picks for his services while boosting their defense for the 2026 season. The Buffalo Bills would truly benefit from having Crosby on their roster, as they’re currently in win-now mode, and pairing him up with Ed Oliver and newly signed Bradley Chubb would be must-watch football every week.  The Bills would have to trade the Raiders their first-round pick and possibly a later-round pick and a couple of players of note for Crosby if they decide to make a move during the draft. Mandatory Credit: Steve Roberts-Imagn Images The Anthony Richardson project flopped in Indy, as he struggled to make a name for himself with the Colts during his tenure.  With Daniel Jones signed to a two-year, $88 million extension, Richardson’s days with the Colts are very likely over.  Despite Richardson telling the press he was tired in the third quarter of a week eight game back in 2024, he is an enticing quarterback to have on any NFL roster as a backup.  The Colts need more draft picks to address their needs on defense, and trading Richardson on draft night to acquire said picks makes a lot of sense. Especially since they traded their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks for Sauce Gardner. The Pittsburgh Steelers could trade for Richardson, as it could reunite him with Michael Pittman Jr., and stabilize the quarterback room, opening the door for a three-way competition between him, Will Howard, and Mason Rudolph. The Los Angeles Rams are another team that could make a trade for Richardson, as Sean McVay has a record of reshaping quarterbacks, from the likes of Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo, and revitalizing Matthew Stafford into a Super Bowl Champion.  The Green Bay Packers could also make a trade for Richardson and get him to sit behind Jordan Love and redevelop his career, similarly to Malik Willis, who got him a three-year, $67.5 million deal with the Miami Dolphins this past offseason. [Corey Perrine/Florida Times-Union] After Thomas Jr. made the 2024 Pro Bowl in his rookie season, where he caught 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and scored 10 touchdowns, he saw some massive regression in the 2025 season.  Thomas Jr. was outshone by Parker Washington (who had a breakout season with 847 receiving yards, while Thomas Jr. had 707 receiving yards), and the passing attack has Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brenton Strange on the roster.  The Jaguars could trade Thomas Jr. during the 2026 NFL Draft, but could risk seeing his value drop if he continues to regress in the 2026 regular season. The New York Jets could be a notable suitor for Thomas Jr., as they need a new wide receiver to pair with Garrett Wilson.  The Jets would have to trade one of their first-round picks to the Jaguars and acquire Thomas Jr., and hopefully revitalize his career, depending on whether Carnell Tate or Jordyn Tyson are still on the board or not. Similar to Dexter Lawrence, Thibodeaux could be seen on the trade block during NFL draft night. Even though the Giants already have Brian Burns and Abdul Carter in the lineup, Thibodeaux’s production has dipped in the last couple of years, as his tackle and sack numbers have decreased. Thibodeaux is also entering a contract year in 2026, as he has to prove himself worthy of a new contract for the 2027 season, as he’s likely not to return to the Giants since they already have Carter and Burns. The Giants could trade Thibodeaux for draft capital if they decide to extend Dexter Lawrence. The New England Patriots could make a trade for Thibodeaux, as they hold 11 picks for the 2026 NFL Draft and could easily trade a couple of their late-round picks for Thibodeaux’s services.  Plus, seeing Thibodeaux rebound under Mike Vrabel’s and defensive coordinator Zak Kuhr’s watch would be exciting.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could also make a trade for Thibodeaux, as they need younger defensive pass-rushers to bolster their unit and potentially save Todd Bowles’ job in the 2026 season. Mandatory Credit: Wendell Cruz-Imagn Images Hall wanted to get traded in the 2025 season before the trade deadline, but the Jets didn’t make it happen, as they wanted a third-round pick for him, and the Kansas City Chiefs only offered a fourth-round pick for him.  The Jets have since franchise-tagged him for the 2026 season. If contract extension talks fall flat during the season, Hall could be a free agent in the 2027 season.  Hall could be traded on draft night if the Jets choose to select a new workhorse running back like Jeremiyah Love or Jadarian Price. The Baltimore Ravens could make a move for Hall and trade away a couple of their fifth-round picks for him, and Derrick Henry is 32 and isn’t getting younger.  Hall will be 25 when the 2026 season kicks off, and he would be a great asset on the Ravens’ roster. Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images Similar to Breece Hall, the Falcons franchise-tagged Pitts, hoping he’ll stay with the team for the 2026 season.  The Falcons have talent on offense with Drake London and Bijan Robinson on the roster, becoming offensive superstars right before our eyes. Pitts hasn’t reached superstar status with the team, but has been a reliable pass-catcher on offense.  The Falcons only have five draft picks this coming NFL draft, and could regroup on offense if they choose to trade Pitts for higher draft capital, especially a first-round pick. The Dallas Cowboys could be one of those teams that can give up some of their higher draft capital for Pitts’ services and give Dak Prescott another great option in their passing attack to complement CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.  The New England Patriots have 11 draft picks and could easily trade their first-round pick to the Falcons and give Drake Maye, a strong game-changing tight end, to work with, along with Hunter Henry.  The Denver Broncos could also make a trade for Pitts and give Bo Nix a truly effective tight end, as the Evan Engram experiment was unsuccessful during the 2025 season.  Brandon AiyukSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports) Although not on the active roster, Aiyuk is still technically a 49er as of now, but he expressed his desire to be traded due to stalled contract extension talks and losing trust with the organization. When healthy, Aiyuk can be a game-changing wideout who can deliver and is capable of high-volume production.  The Washington Commanders could make a trade for Aiyuk, which would reunite him with his former Arizona State teammate, Jayden Daniels.  The Commanders would have to give up a couple of late-round picks to the 49ers just to acquire Aiyuk. He would also give Daniels a very talented wide receiver to work with for the upcoming 2026 season. The Tennessee Titans could make a trade for Aiyuk, which would reunite him with Robert Saleh and give Cam Ward a powerful weapon to work with for the 2026 season.  We’ll just have to see what happens on draft night. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft.  However, with Brown expressing his frustration with the Eagles during the 2025 season, he could get traded again on draft night during the 2026 NFL Draft. Brown had a productive season with the Eagles, catching 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and scoring seven touchdowns in 2025. Trading for Brown will be costly, as his $96 million extension kicks in next year, and teams will likely have to give up a first-round pick to acquire him. The New England Patriots could make a massive move to trade for Brown during the draft, and it would give Drake Maye the best wide receiver he’ll work with since Stefon Diggs was on the roster in 2025. Another team that could make a trade for Brown on draft night is the Baltimore Ravens, as they have a top-15 pick in the upcoming draft, and could use the help at the wide receiver position and pair him with Zay Flowers and tight end Mark Andrews. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta made a massive trade swing with Maxx Crosby before that deal fell flat, but making a trade for Brown would be a better gamble.

10 NFL Players That Hate Their Current Team

Some players are in the right place at the right time. Great teams, great systems, situations that just make sense, and keep them content with their NFL squad. Then there are these guys… who hate their current teams. It is the same every offseason… You can just sort of feel the tension building around certain players and their franchises. Sometimes it’s about money. Sometimes it’s about winning… or the persistent, maddening lack of winning. And sometimes… it comes down to a superstar who is somewhere he clearly doesn’t want to be anymore, and the only question left is when the break actually happens. Let’s take a look around the league at 10 NFL players who, heading into 2026, are absolutely, undeniably at odds with their current team. Which NFL players hate their current teams? Mandatory Credit: Mark Konezny-Imagn Images When the team owner steps to the microphone and tells the world that the coaching staff pushed to draft a guy and that he was just being a “team player” by going along with it, you know the relationship is off to a really bad start. That’s exactly what Buffalo’s Terry Pegula did in January, publicly distancing himself from the Keon Coleman pick and pinning the decision squarely on the fired Sean McDermott staff. Think about that for a second. The men who believed in you are gone. And the man who signs your checks just told everyone he wasn’t one of them. Coleman was the 33rd overall pick in 2024 and was supposed to be the next foundational piece at receiver for a franchise trying to win a championship. Through two seasons, he’s totaled 67 catches for 960 yards and 8 touchdowns. Fine for a third option, nowhere near the upside that comes with an early second-round pick. He was benched multiple times in 2025 for what the organization described broadly as maturity issues…  New head coach Joe Brady and GM Brandon Beane are calling it a “full reset” for Year 3, but trade rumors have floated his name to New Orleans for a mid-to-late-round pick. Beane says the door is open if Coleman earns it. Hard to walk through a door when the owner has already told everyone it wasn’t his idea to let you in. It is no wonder he’s not the biggest fan of his NFL team. There’s no proper way to exist as the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft once you find yourself third on your team’s depth chart. Richardson was drafted out of Florida with some of the most jaw-dropping physical tools we’ve seen from a quarterback prospect in years — the arm, the size, the athleticism, the ceiling everyone kept talking about.  Through three seasons with the Colts, though, he’s made it into just 17 games, and it hasn’t looked particularly good for any extended amount of time. A broken hand in his rookie year. A midseason benching in 2024 for Joe Flacco because the team wasn’t happy with how he was preparing.  And then in 2025, when he entered camp as the presumed starter, lost the job to Daniel Jones during training camp, settled into the backup role… and then suffered a fractured orbital bone in a freak pregame warmup accident before Week 6. Now it looks like he will never play another meaningful snap for the Colts. GM Chris Ballard says he believes in Richardson, but with the way the depth chart is looking and the rumors coming out of Indy, the franchise isn’t saying the quiet part loudly, which has put Richardson at odds with the organization. That is the Breece Hall experience in New York, where he has been the most consistent player on the most consistently disappointing team in football.  He put up 1,065 rushing yards in 2025 and over 1,200 yards from scrimmage for the third straight season, but ended up watching the team crater to 3-14. At the trade deadline, Hall had already privately made clear how he felt about the losing, and though the interest in him from contending teams was reportedly significant, the Jets declined to move him as part of the fire sale that claimed Quinnen Williams, Sauce Gardner, and others. Now, Breece Hall and all his talent are stuck, held captive, by a dysfunctional and rudderless Jets organization. Crosby had made clear by January that he wanted out of Las Vegas. The Raiders were rebuilding. He wanted to win. Both sides agreed it was time to move on, and honestly, good for everyone involved for being adults about it. So when the Ravens came calling with two first-round picks — including the 14th overall selection — the Raiders took it. The deal was done. Crosby filmed an emotional farewell video and posted it. He flew to Baltimore. He met with coach Jesse Minter and GM Eric DeCosta. And he genuinely believed a new chapter was starting. Then the Ravens backed out. Baltimore flagged a degenerative issue in his knee during the physical and walked away from two first-round picks—a move that sent shockwaves through the entire league. Crosby is publicly saying all the right things: “I’m a Raider, I’m back, everything happens for a reason.”  And to his credit, he’s handled an absolutely brutal situation with remarkable composure—extending beyond even the failed trade…  But let’s not kid ourselves. This is a guy who wanted out, thought he was out, and got handed back to a team that went 3-14 last year, has a first-time head coach, and is expected to start a rookie quarterback. Las Vegas literally couldn’t move him right when it mattered most. They may get another shot at a trade before the season starts. They may not.  But one thing is certain—Maxx Crosby did not get on that plane back to Las Vegas feeling great about the people running this franchise. Harrison was the 4th overall pick in 2024, anointed a generational talent coming out of Ohio State. Son of a Hall of Famer and the most polished route runner in his draft class.  This guy was supposed to make the Cardinals relevant immediately. Instead, through two seasons in the desert, he became an afterthought—and is now at odds with the NFL team that drafted him. The situation isn’t getting better either… Kyler Murray is gone. The projected starting quarterback for 2026 is Jacoby Brissett, who went 1-11 as a starter last season. And Michael Wilson is outproducing MHJ. The murmurs keep getting louder and louder that he wants out. JJ McCarthy, QB, Minnesota VikingsJ.J. McCarthy (Credit: IMAGN) The 10th overall pick in 2024. The centerpiece of the Vikings’ future. The quarterback, Kevin O’Connell, was going to develop into a franchise star. Heading into Year 3, he might be the backup. McCarthy missed his entire rookie year with a preseason knee injury.  He returned in 2025 and made 10 starts—going 6-4, which sounds okay until you look at the box score and see he threw more interceptions than touchdowns.  And it only got worse when you watched the tape… Nine struggled with decision-making and processing to the point where sources told reporters the coaching staff had real frustrations about how things were going. The Vikings’ response? Sign Kyler Murray — a guy the Cardinals just paid $36.8 million to get rid of — to come in and compete for the job.  The framing of it as a “competition” seems dubious at best… and now McCarthy, the franchise’s top-10 pick, is likely going to be watching the action happen from the sideline. No wonder he’s not happy with his team! Garrett Wilson, WR, New York JetsGarrett Wilson (Photo Credits: Imagn) Yes, this is the second Jets player on the list. That should tell you everything you need to know about the state of that organization. Wilson signed a four-year, $130 million extension right before the 2025 season began.  He committed… He believed in what Aaron Glenn was building and was ready to be the cornerstone. Then the Jets stumbled out of the gate, his friend Justin Fields got benched, and the front office traded Quinnen Williams, then Sauce Gardner, his other best friend on that roster, a guy he’d drafted alongside, signed extensions with on the same day. The two had grown up as NFL players together. Wilson sat in the locker room, dealing with a knee injury that would end his season in November, watching the team he had just committed to for four years come apart at the seams in real time. Wilson is too good and too competitive to feel at ease heading into 2026 on this roster… But the reality is that he made his bet and his bed—now he’s gotta lie in it. Rebilas-Imagn Images) Brown has made his frustrations with Philadelphia’s offense clear enough over the last two seasons that everyone already knows the temperature in that room.  The targets haven’t been coming consistently, and the scheme hasn’t been built around him the way it should be.  And after the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2024, instead of things opening up for one of the best receivers in football, he posted his lowest output as an Eagle. A guy with three straight second-team All-Pro nods is suddenly being called overpaid by analysts. The Eagles had serious conversations with both the Patriots and the Rams about a trade this offseason. There have been several reports that Brown’s exit is seen as “inevitable” by sources around the league, but still… no movement. In part because the dead cap hit before June 1 has complicated things as a pre-June trade carries a $43 million charge, but even so, it feels like the Birds are in no rush to deal the talented wideout. They apparently even signed Elijah Moore, Brown’s close college friend, in an attempt to keep him happy. Brown is locked up through 2029 at $32 million per year. The Eagles aren’t in a rush. But this smoke has been burning for two years now, and at some point… it feels like something has to give. The Jaguars led 17-10 at halftime. There’s a specific kind of misery that comes from being the best player on an NFL team that keeps finding new ways to waste your prime. Late in the 2025 season, a year in which Burrow missed eight games with a turf toe injury, the Bengals went 6-11, and the offense still ranked top-ten in EPA per play when he was actually healthy, he sat at press conferences and sounded miserable. He talked about going through “more than most” and left the door open when asked whether he could see himself as the QB1 for another franchise. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the organization that took him first overall back in 2020… which is fair considering how maddening the Bengals are to watch operate every offseason. It is the same old story every year… Mike Brown keeps the budget tight. The defense keeps collapsing. And Burrow, who has the talent to compete for championships, watches the window close a little further every single year. Reports have been direct about what comes next: if the Bengals miss the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season in 2026, Burrow demands a trade. This is a slow-motion disaster in motion, and everyone can see it coming. Myles Garrett, DE, Cleveland BrownsMyles Garrett (Photo via Imagn Images) In 2025, Myles Garrett broke the NFL’s all-time single-season sack record with 23. The only problem was that he did it on a team that went 5- 12. Sit with that for a moment. The best defensive player in football put together the most productive individual defensive season in the history of the league… And his team won five games. No wonder he is disgruntled! Even with the massive contract extension he took last offseason. Yup… This isn’t new territory.  He publicly requested a trade last offseason before the Browns extended him at $40 million per year — the richest contract in history for a defensive player — to stay. He agreed, came back, and proceeded to have arguably the greatest defensive season anyone has ever produced, but the Browns remained woefully dysfunctional. Then this week, the Browns quietly modified the language of his contract, pushing his $29.2 million option bonuses from March to just before the regular season each year, a move that creates zero cap savings for Cleveland unless they actually trade him.  Cap experts around the league were immediate: this makes Garrett more tradeable, full stop. ESPN’s Adam Schefter went directly to the Browns. Their response: “100 percent definitely not trading Myles Garrett.” He has a no-trade clause and hasn’t publicly asked to be moved… yet.  And of course, the Browns say he’s going nowhere, but the greatest pass rusher alive is entering his age-31 season on a team in year two of a rebuild with no visible endpoint… and he is clearly sick of their schtick.  Garrett has already asked out once, and the haul Cleveland could get for him right now—potentially three first-round picks—won’t be available forever. Somebody in that building should be paying very, very close attention because their biggest star absolute HATES them.
