The Charlotte Hornets faced a challenging 2024-25 NBA season, landing at a disheartening 14th in the Eastern Conference standings with a staggering record of just 19 wins against 63 losses. As the organisation looks to revamp its roster ahead of the upcoming season, there’s one player deemed untouchable—and in an unexpected twist, it isn’t the team’s star, LaMelo Ball.

According to NBA insider Sam Amico, Brandon Miller has emerged as the only untouchable player on the Charlotte Hornets’ roster.

“One opposing executive told Hoops Wire that he’s been led to believe Brandon Miller is the lone untouchable on Charlotte’s roster — though he doesn’t think LaMelo Ball or Miles Bridges will be moved. ‘No one would pay what the Hornets are surely seeking for (either player),’ the executive said,” Via Sam Amico.

Amico pointed out that he doesn’t believe the Hornets are aggressively looking to trade Ball, but the reality that he’s not totally off the table shows that the front office is definitely open to exploring options.

After a challenging season for the Hornets, trade rumours concerning LaMelo Ball have started swirling. In a recent episode of his podcast, “What an Experience,” Lonzo Ball shared an intriguing perspective, suggesting that the Hornets might consider drafting Dylan Harper while envisioning LaMelo making a transition to the Los Angeles Clippers.

“I lowkey got Dylan Harper going to the Hornets. And I got Melo going to the [Clippers],” Ball said.

Ball averaged 25.2 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds over 47 games this season. He missed the rest of the season to undergo two minor procedures to address ankle and wrist issues.
