The Golden State Warriors faced an unexpected setback when their key player, Stephen Curry, showed up over their 98-88 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. During Game 1, Stephen got a hamstring injury in the second quarter, creating uncertainty about his presence for Game 2. Despite securing the victory in the absence of their star guard, the Warriors now face difficulties in potentially continuing the series without the 111-time All-Star; his midgame exit due to discomfort indicates major concerns about his availability moving forward.

Following his stats, including 13 points in under 16 minutes,5-9 shooting, Curry exited the game with his hamstring issue after a jump shot. Warriors’ Coach Kerr announced that Curry will have an MRI on Wednesday and for the time being, he is listed as day-to-day, stating, “He’s crushed, but the guys picked him up and played a great game.” (via- Usa Today)

Although Curry’s departure disappointed him but he was also happy with how the rest of the team performed on the court.

At this crucial time in their playoff journey, particularly after a demanding seven-game series with the Houston Rockets, Curry’s step back is a significant blow for the Warriors. His consistency on court with 24 points,5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game, complemented by his veteran leadership, has been a major element in their success. His absence now presents a pivotal challenge for the Warriors as they navigate the Western Conference semifinals.

Before his damage forced him to exit the court with the Warriors leading 30-20, Curry played efficiently, hitting 3 of 6 three-pointers in the early moments of game 1. After Brandin Podziemski joined him, the Warriors relied on Buddy Heild’s long-range accuracy and Green’s high energy until the end.

The Warriors now face a tight turnaround before Game 2 in Minneapolis. Curry’s healthy and strong presence on the court will potentially impact the series‘s direction. Coach Kerr acknowledged the damage concern. As he stated, he expressed hope for Curry’s swift comeback. The short break before the next game adds to the uncertainty regarding Curry’s status and its significant effect on the Warriors’ playoff hopes.
