Nikola Jokic jumping on the back of Jaylin Williams

Nikola Jokic certainly had a night to forget on Wednesday.

The Denver Nuggets star big man Jokic laid an egg (by his standards) during a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 of their second-round series. He finished with an uncharacteristic 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists before fouling out in the third quarter of the contest at Paycom Arena in Oklahoma City, O.K.

Late in that third quarter, Jokic also pulled a very questionable move. He was running up the floor on offense and decided to do a WWE-style takedown on Thunder big man Jaylin Williams.

As the two were jockeying for position in the post, Jokic jumped on Williams’ back, causing both of them to crash to the floor in a heap. Jokic was whistled for an offensive foul on the play (his fifth at the time), which was upheld even after Nuggets interim coach David Adelman decided to challenge.

Take a look at the video (in which you can see that Jokic also got away with a light elbow to Thunder forward Luguentz Dort while trying to contest a three-point shot by Dort seconds earlier).

Jokic is officially listed at 284 pounds, so that cannot have felt good at all for Williams. Fortunately for both players though, Jokic only lasted in the game for a very short while longer after that as he picked up his sixth and final foul of the game less than 30 seconds later.

Game 2 was a very forgettable one for Denver. In addition to Jokic fouling out (and losing his cool before doing so), fellow MVP teammate Russell Westbrook picked up a technical foul after getting frustrated in the first half.
