Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher isn’t one to shy away from tough conversations, and he proved that again with his recent comments on transgender athletes in women’s sports.

Appearing on the Global View podcast, Urlacher spoke openly in support of former President Donald Trump’s executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”

“It’s just common sense,” Urlacher said, voicing concern over biological males competing in women’s sports. “A woman is a woman and a man is a man… you’re born with what you’re born with,” he told Fox News Digital.

Urlacher, who built his career on fierce tackles and leadership on the field, isn’t mincing words off the field either.

Backing Trump’s Order, Raising Questions On Fairness

The Trump administration introduced the order earlier this year. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt explained its goal: to “uphold the promise of Title IX.” The order defines gender based on the sex assigned at birth, directly targeting the participation of transgender athletes in women’s sports.

Urlacher fully supported the order. He argued that transgender athletes create an unfair playing field. He shared a specific example from Minnesota. According to him, a transgender softball player there has dominated the competition.

“It’s just different because we are men, there are certain things we do better than women,” Urlacher said. “If I had a daughter who had to be forced to play against a man, I would not be okay with it and I would raise hell about it.”

His comments come as a national debate over transgender athletes intensifies. Recently, parents in Naperville, Illinois, voiced strong concerns. They protested a transgender student’s win in a middle school track event. At the school board meeting, emotions ran high. Parents held signs reading “Protect Girls Sports” and “Stop Exploiting Kids.” Their protest added fuel to an already heated discussion. This issue continues to divide communities and lawmakers across the country.

Urlacher, an eight-time Pro Bowler and 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, closed his remarks by questioning the direction of current policies. He said, “It’s a common sense thing. I just don’t see how you can push this and make someone think they’re a different sex.”

Urlacher’s voice adds a high-profile sports perspective to a polarizing national issue that shows no signs of slowing down.
