Stephen A Smith is just about everywhere these days.
There is a very real chance that the First Take star could expand his role even more.
On top of his First Take duties, Smith is a major part of the network’s NBA coverage, joining NBA Countdown in 2021. You can also see him across ESPN’s daytime programming, including Get Up and SportsCenter.
He also has a widely popular podcast. He regularly appears on a range of political talk shows and even dabbles in acting on General Hospital.
Now, it appears that Smith will be seen much more during this country’s most popular sport.
ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro told Front Office Sports that Stephen A Smith has already had conversations with the network about becoming more involved in their NFL coverage.
“On Stephen, I would say yes as well. We are very open to Stephen getting more involved on the NFL,” Pitaro said. “We’ve had some exploratory conversations with him. We know that the league really likes Stephen. So there could be something to do there.”
Smith is expected to appear on “Monday Night Countdown” during the 2025 NFL season.
