The NBA offseason has brought some interesting trade prospects. One of the biggest news that has been making the rounds involves the San Antonio Spurs. With all the hype surrounding the No. 2 draft pick, it was almost certain who the team was eyeing. Most critics believed that Rutgers’ star Dylan Harper would be a sure shot pick for the Spurs. But in what was a shocking twist, it was found out that it might not be a done deal yet.
One of the main reasons for the dilemma is how the Spurs’ roster looks at the moment. With De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle already in their ranks, Harper might pose a problem. While he can surely form a formidable trio, the acquisition of Harper might pose a minute crunch between the three stars. Thus, the Spurs might want to rethink their decision to opt for Harper before making the final call.

So, what could be the alternative for the Spurs if they decide not to go for Dylan Harper? According to Jonathan Givony of ‘ESPN,’ Kon Kneuppel might be an appropriate replacement for Harper. Although a hypothetical scenario, Givony pointed out that the Spurs might consider Kneuppel if they solely focus on need. Meanwhile, apart from securing a good draft, the Spurs are also on the lookout for a blockbuster trade.
San Antonio Spurs Looking To Acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo

The San Antonio Spurs were expected to achieve some significant success this season. With the likes of Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox in their ranks, the team looked quite sorted. Unfortunately, a season-ending injury to Wembanyama dashed the Spurs’ hopes significantly. Now, moving on, they are fancying a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to a report by Jake Fischer, the Spurs are reportedly inquiring about Antetokounmpo. They are also allegedly trying to offer a pick-heavy package to make the deal come through. Surely, if the Spurs succeed, this will be one of the most formidable trios in the NBA next year. Thus, with a lot of rumors going on, it remains to be seen what happens next.
