The Los Angeles Rams have added Super Bowl champion and wide receiver Britain Covey to bolster their offense and special teams.

Sean McVay’s Rams announced on X/Twitter that they have signed the former Philadelphia Eagles fan favorite to a one-year contract. The 28-year-old spent his first three years with the NFC East club before joining the Rams.

Britain Covey was used sparingly as a receiver in Nick Sirianni’s offense, but he was mostly deployed as a special teams returner. He led the NFL in punt return yards during the 2023 season (417), posting 771 altogether during his three seasons in Philly.

Covey appeared in five games for the Eagles last season, before suffering a neck injury in a December contest against the Baltimore Ravens that ended his season. Philly went on to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59, thwarting Patrick Mahomes and company of the three-peat.

Britain Covey was a three-time First-team All-Pac-12 selection during his college tenure at Utah. He led the conference in punt return yards during the 2020 and 2021 seasons, recording three punt return TDs in that period.

Covey has 11 receptions for 76 yards, 771 punt return yards, and 236 kick return yards over his first three NFL seasons.

The Rams’ wide receiver room will look quite different when they hit the field in 2025. Franchise icon and Super Bowl 56 MVP Cooper Kupp was let go in a cap-saving move, and he went on to sign with the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks.

To replace Kupp, the Rams signed future Hall of Famer Davante Adams to a two-year deal following his release from the New York Jets. The Rams also used a seventh-round pick on Pittsburgh product Konata Mumpfield, adding more depth to the room.
