You can boo Juan Soto, but can’t deny the fact he’s one of the biggest and brightest stars of the league currently.

Recently, the New York Mets superstar outfielder is lacing up for the next big thing. First Subway Series of the year against their arch rivals, New York Yankees.

While the stakes are high, as the Mets are to face their interleague rival, Soto is keeping his head high. When asked about what’s the one thing he’s excited about, the lefty Dominican Republic-born said- “the crowd.”

However, although he is looking forward to entertaining the enthusiastic NY fans, that comes with its fair share of thumbs down and irritating chants.

When the reporter pressed him saying what would he look for if the fans boo him, his answer was on point and just three-words long.

“I don’t mind,” Soto said.

During his time with the Yankees in 2024, Soto had an impressive performance. He batted .288 with 41 home runs. Soto also played a significant role in leading the team to the World Series alongside Aaron Judge.

Now, as a member of the Mets, he has hit eight home runs this season but is batting .255. Despite these struggles with his batting average, he remains a crucial part of a top National League team’s puzzle.

The tension of playing against his former team will certainly add to the excitement of the Subway Series this weekend.

While it would be a full-circle moment for Soto, that doesn’t mean Yankees fans would be any softer on him.

Keith McPherson, the passionate WFAN host and die-hard Yankees fan, has been quite vocal about his feelings ahead of Juan Soto’s return to Yankee Stadium.

McPherson didn’t hold back when he called out Juan Soto for what he sees as misleading Yankees fans after the 2024 World Series.

“You’re not available to all 30 teams, Juan. Don’t lie to us,” McPherson said.

He emphasized that if Soto wasn’t headed to the Yankees, he likely had only one other team in mind.

What really got under McPherson’s skin was Soto’s comment about New York being a “Mets town.” He didn’t shy away from expressing his disbelief.

“The Yankees are good every year. So what are you talking about, bro? You said it’s a Mets town. What? Where? What are you talking about, bro?” he added.

“The Yankees are good every year. So what are you talking about, bro?” It’s clear that he feels strongly that the Yankees’ legacy speaks for itself.

As Soto gears up for his first game back in the Bronx, McPherson warns him to be ready for some lively heckling from Yankees fans. He described the experience as entering the “Bronx Zoo,” which is his way of saying the fans will be vocal and creative with their support.

While Soto claims he’s focused solely on helping his team win, he acknowledges that the energy at Yankee Stadium will be intense.
