In a recent sit-down interview with ‘The West Sport,’ Della Maddalena opened up on his upcoming fight. While he analyzed Makhachev’s fighting style, Della Maddalena also mentioned how he will be taking Alexander Volkanovski’s help. As someone who has fought against Makhachev, Volkanovski could share a secret or two!
“Yeah, 100 percent. I definitely plan. After the last two fights i’ve spent a bit of time in wollongong So yeah, I think probably the first stop we go to wollongong talk to volk see what he reckons,” said Della Maddalena.

As a matter of fact, both of Volkanovski’s fights were pretty close. And according to many critics, Volkanovski could have won the fight if he had not been knocked out. Meanwhile, despite oozing confidence, Maddalena recently acknowledged the fact that getting over Makhachev would be tough.
Jack Della Maddalena Acknowledges Islam Makhachev As A Tough Opponent
Jack Della Maddalena is confident that he will successfully defend his welterweight title against Islam Makhachev. Now, having said that, the Aussie is well aware of what the Dagestani brings to the table. He stated that Makhachev has some exceptional fighting abilities. His grappling skills are outworldly. Speaking to ‘Sky Sports,’ Della Maddalena analyzed his upcoming opponent.
“His grappling is some of the best we’ve seen. So, I’ve got to be extremely prepared, but I think I’ve got the skills to beat him. Obviously, I’m gonna have to work extremely hard, but my team fully believes that we’ve got the skills to beat Makhachev,” he said.
Thus, with things becoming quite interesting, it remains to be seen how the fight between the two pans out.
