The San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers are considered two of the biggest NL West rivals. Both teams have fought multiple times in the playoffs and continue to battle. Online reports are circulating a trade proposal that would link San Diego to a $60 million All-Star slugger.
The Dodgers have a roster full of talented players, but they had to part ways with a few sluggers. Recently, the team DFA’d veteran hitter Chris Taylor. Despite being a utility player, Taylor could not keep up the pace with the Dodgers’ elite squad. Now that he’s gone, rumors of the Padres linked to the slugger have emerged.
However, fans have shut down the trade idea. Fans reacted on social media as they dismissed the idea of bringing in Taylor.
Dodgers fans: How would you feel about Chris Taylor potentially joining the Padres after being released by the Dodgers?
Would you want to see him in the NL West?https://t.co/j2ro5LPaZK

Would be disappointed if he chose the Padres, Diamondbacks or the Giants.. The A’s, Mariners or the Angels would be great. Colorado might give him playing time, but not much winning..

San Diego Padres Suffer Humiliating Loss Against The Toronto Blue Jays

San Diego is coming off a terrible loss after surrendering 14 runs against the Blue Jays. Their offense was a total no-show, failing to score a single run. Kevin Gausman had a stellar performance, throwing seven scoreless innings for the Blue Jays.
Gausman was the player of the game with nine strikeouts. The Padres are now third in the NL West with a 27-20 record. The last few weeks have been a tough battle for the team. The offense has been erratic after scoring only two runs in the previous four games.
San Diego surrendered 27 runs in return, as its pitching was a blunder. At present, the team is ranked No. 5 in their Week 8 MLB power rankings.
