Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry’s dominant and smooth offensive pairing in the Golden State Warriors remains exceptionally potent in the history of the NBA. This duo was central to the Warriors’ success, leading them to two championships in three years. They reunited on the court again for Shaq’s OG at the 2025 All-Star Game. Looking back on their thoughts on the ease of playing with Curry and their unique chemistry.

Durant’s move to the Warriors in 2016 was significantly smooth due to the Warriors’ ball movement and unity as a team. Curry demonstrated a strong offense and was a constant threat on and off the ball; Durant seamlessly adapted. Their ability to complement each other’s game was visible in their effective use of spacing and how they made each other better contenders.

During an Interview at the All-Star weekend, Durant shared his straightforward thoughts on playing with Curry, stating, “It is so easy to play with Steph, he doesn’t demand the ball, he further added about his on court presence. He doesn’t have a demanding personality, plays within the flow of the game, and those are the type of players that are easy to play with (via Basketball Network).”

The Warriors’ offense peaked as they played so well, especially in the playoffs. Even though they didn’t play together for long, Durant and Curry’s understanding of each other’s movements and preferences enabled the Warriors to establish a substantial depth within the team that was virtually unstoppable when both players performed at an elite level.

Despite their past success, the chances of a reunion between Durant and Curry in the Golden State Warriors concluded in 2025, when Durant turned down the possibility of returning via trade. While Curry reportedly reached out to Durant, the 15-time All-Star made it clear he had no interest in a second time involvement. His decision came with no surprise, considering the media scrutiny he was under during his time with the Warriors.

With Durant and Curry both entering the final chapters of their Hall of Fame careers, fans continue to cherish every opportunity to see them share the court, whether on the international stage or during the All-Star Game. Their place in basketball history is already secured, and their remarkable pairing will be deeply missed when they retire..
