Utah’s NHL franchise has officially become the Utah Mammoth after spending one season as the Utah Hockey Club, and many fans feel there is something quite familiar about the team’s new logos.
The Utah Mammoth released a hype video on Wednesday unveiling their new team nickname and branding. The response has been largely positive, which is not a surprise since the team polled fans to help come up with its new name.

While most fans like the logo, a lot of people had the same reaction to it. They think it is not all that unique, as it looks quite similar to the Nashville Predators’ logo.

Even the Predators themselves acknowledged that there are similarities with the branding of the two franchises:

More than 850,000 fans voted to help come up with Utah’s new team name. The decision was narrowed down to six possible choices at one point, with the “Yeti” being another popular nickname among fans. The team ran into trademarking issues with that name, however.
Utah went 38-31-13 and missed the playoffs in their first season after moving from Arizona.
