Aaron Judge is a huge Yankee fan favorite. He’s undoubtedly one of the best hitters in the league, and Yankees fans love him. Judge is also leading the league in batting average, OBP, slugging, and OPS. The All-Star has 16 home runs, and he’s having a great season.

It’s safe to say that the Yankees’ captain is doing better than his former teammate, Juan Soto. Yet, the duo is compared every now and then, and many side with Soto for his postseason performance. Recently, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith sided with Soto in the postseason and questioned Judge’s performance.

Yankees fans will certainly be unhappy with Smith’s statement on Aaron Judge. Smith believes that despite Soto’s slump, he’s sure to show up when needed.

“But in all seriousness, we understand that the flip side to it is that as much as I love me some Aaron judge, I need Aaron Judge to show up like that (Juan Soto) in the postseason; I know Juan Soto will, and I’m not worried about him in the slightest,” Smith said.

“He’s .247, we know he’s gonna up those numbers. But in all fairness, when it really, really counts that brother is somebody you can count on showing up. I’m hoping I’m gonna be able to say that about Judge,” Smith continued.

Judge’s strong regular season is often forgotten when he has the slightest slump in the playoffs. It’s hard to compare both players, especially since both are considered one of the best hitters in the league.

Aaron Judge Has Faced Constant Criticism For His Playoff Performance

It’s not the first time Judge has been criticized for his postseason run. The slugger was called out by many for not performing when they needed him the most. Many insiders and fans have noted his slump.

Being one of the best hitters in the league and staying consistent is not easy. Yet, the Yankees’ captain was criticized. Smith is not the first to call out Aaron Judge for his postseason performance. Likewise, Juan Soto has better postseason numbers than his former teammate. The Yankees are having a decent run this season, and two of their top sluggers are set to return.
