Things got testy and physical between two Edmonton Oilers fans during Game 1 of the second-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
For the second time in three years, the Oilers and Golden Knights meet in the Western Conference Semifinals. There’s no love lost between the two teams…and, apparently, some Oilers fans themselves.
During Game 1 at T-Mobile Arena, cameras caught a bizarre scene of two Edmonton Oilers fans exchanging haymakers in the upper bowl. The fan in the orange jersey got the worst of it, with the fan in the white jersey treating him like a punching bag.
The fan in orange didn’t seem fazed by the haymakers, though. He stayed upright and continued exchanging words until an arena staffer came over to end the brouhaha:

Getting into fights over a game is always dumb and childish, but it’s especially mind-boggling when two people representing the same team get into their own brawl. But as the old saying goes, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to stun the Golden Knights in Game 1, scoring three unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 4-2 victory. Zach Hyman sniped home the game-winning goal with 3:02 remaining, and Connor Brown provided the insurance marker 1:16 later.
Game 2 is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. EST at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night.
Edmonton Oilers Steal Home Ice Advantage
Having taken Game 1 on the road, the Oilers have essentially claimed home ice advantage. Even if they lose Game 2 on Thursday, it’s a best-of-five with the Oilers needing just three home wins to punch their ticket to the final four.
Dating back to last year, the Oilers have won five straight home playoff games and seven of their last eight altogether.
