During Game 1 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves, Buddy Hield made an unexpected mistake. Cameras captured Hield wearing shorts that were noticeably different from the rest of the Warriors’ starting lineup. While his teammates wore the standard black and yellow gear, Hield’s shorts were black and blue. The mishap even led to a brief pause in Game 2.

Following the game, Hield addressed the incident during the post-game press conference. Surprisingly, he shifted the blame for the mix-up to Jimmy Butler.

“Jimmy switched it out. That was Jimmy’s fault. Jimmy switched it out, and that’s what happened. So I was looking for my shorts and I thought it was the right ones. He said, ‘Yo, put these on,” Hield said.

Butler was present during the exchange. He was taken aback by the accusation. He reacted with disbelief while saying, “That’s what you’re going with?

Despite Butler’s disbelief, Hield didn’t back down. He confidently reaffirmed his claim.

“Yeah, I’m going with it was Jimmy’s fault. His locker’s next to my locker. I was looking for my shorts. I put them on, they look just alike. Got a fine for it. So it’s cool, but it’s Jimmy’s fault. Blame Jimmy,” he added.

Earlier in the postseason, Jimmy Butler stirred the pot by calling himself “Robin” to Stephen Curry’s “Batman while subtly placing Buddy Hield in a lesser role. Following the Warriors’ Game 2 victory, Hield made sure to respond. During the post-game press conference, he flipped the script by claiming the lead role for himself.

“I’m Batman today. I saved the day. [Jimmy] is still Robin,Hield said in the press conference.

With Curry sidelined, the Warriors were in need of someone to step up, and Hield delivered. He scored 24 points while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out three assists. His performance was key in securing the win and, as he saw it, enough to earn him the title of “Batman” for the night.
