The Boston Celtics will welcome the New York Knicks in their second meeting of the semifinal showdown at TD Garden on Wednesday, May 7

After having a significant performance in the first round series against the Detroit Pistons with a record of 4-2, the third-seeded New York Knicks hold their momentum in the semifinal 1. They defeated the Boston Celtics by 108-105 in overtime after overcoming a 20-point second-half deficit. Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each scored 29 points, while key performances from Anunoby and Mike Bridges sealed the thrilling comeback. In the second half, they outscored the Boston Celtics by 53-30, demonstrating a true spirit and teamwork for the crucial victory

On the other hand, the second-seeded Boston Celtics, having a remarkable first-round series against the Orlando Magic, with a dominant record of 4-1, couldn’t manage to secure the victory at the beginning of the semifinal round. Despite the 20-point lead in the first half, they missed a playoff record 45 three-pointers. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown contributed 23 points each, but struggled to shoot well from the three-point range.

Adding to the complications, Kristaps Porzingis exited early due to illness. Even though Derrick white scored 19 and Jrue Holiday contributed 16 after his return to injury, their turnovers and poor shooting cost them the game 1.

The upcoming second matchup between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will be highly thrilling to watch as both teams will look for the upper hand in the semifinal bash.

The Celtics are expected to bounce back strong, tightening their shot selection and relying more on inside scoring. However, Jayson Tatum’s high-scoring ability, complemented by Jaylen Brown’s aggressive drives and better shot choices, can threaten the Knicks.

Moreover, Kristaps Porzingis ‘s healthy comeback can make their roster even more powerful. For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson’s scoring surge and OG Anunoby’s strong defense and shot timing can significantly hold their winning rhythm online.
