Barstool Sports personality Dan Katz, A.K.A. “Big Cat,” has revealed he was hospitalized over the weekend.

Katz took to social media on Sunday to disclose that he was rushed to the emergency room due to kidney stones. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he has since been discharged from hospital.

“Developing story: Over the weekend, @BarstoolBigCat was hospitalized due to a kidney stone,” Schefter tweeted on Tuesday. “He since has been released, and with that episode seemingly over, @PFTCommenter is now on the clock.”

This wasn’t Big Cat’s first experience with kidney stones. He revealed having four of them last November, claiming three of them were still small and probably wouldn’t affect him.

“I think it’s kinda random, it might be stress cause I am really stressed,” he said then.

Katz claimed that the hospitalization was actually not the worst part of his weekend, as his favorite NFL team, the Chicago Bears, had lost.

His most recent episode didn’t weigh down on him that much either. He was back home in time to attend the “Bet Gala,” a Met Gala Parody hosted by Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy, and was very active on social media.

Meanwhile, Barstool Sports remains under scrutiny following an antisemitic phrase popping up at Portnoy’s bar in Philadelphia over the weekend. Portnoy, who is Jewish, condemned the act and has since revealed firing two employees as a result.

Philadelphia authorities are also investigating the matter, while a university is conducting its own probe as those responsible are believed to be students.
