Paul Goldschmidt to the Boston Red Sox? Sounds like a trade, smells like a lot of shuffling.

Recent speculation from Kerry Miller at Bleacher Report suggests that the New York Yankees’ Goldschmidt could be a potential trade target for the Red Sox.
However, as it stands, there’s little likelihood that the Yankees would part with Goldschmidt, who has been one of the key contributors to their lineup.
But as Miller from Bleacher Reports puts it, there’s one condition.
“If a handful of things go in New York’s favor, though, flipping Goldschmidt for a starting pitcher could be on the table. The biggest one is that the 37-year-old first baseman needs to continue hitting well,” Kerry Miller wrote.

Nevertheless, Miller notes that if the Yankees were to find themselves with a healthy roster, it could lead to a scenario where Goldschmidt’s role becomes less secure. In such a case, the Yankees might explore trading him, possibly in exchange for a starting pitcher, particularly if he continues to perform well.
While it seems improbable that Goldschmidt would end up with the Red Sox, there is potential for beneficial negotiations if the Yankees are open to trading.
Given Boston’s strong farm system, they might pique New York’s interest. Currently, Goldschmidt is performing exceptionally well. He’s boasting a .344 batting average, four home runs, and an OPS+ of 149. All of that is too much to consider a trade straight away.
