Pope Leo shows off his White Sox love with hat at Vatican

Pope Leo is not hiding his love of the Chicago White Sox.

Pope Leo XIV was photographed sporting a White Sox hat at the Vatican during his weekly general audience. The White Sox proudly shared the photo via their X account.

Prior to being elected the new pope last month, Pope Leo XIV was named Cardinal Robert Prevost. He grew up in Chicago, Ill., and was a White Sox fan. A false rumor was spread initially saying he was a Cubs fan, but that error was quickly corrected. Later, some folks even dug up footage that showed Pope Leo attending a White Sox World Series game in 2005.

The White Sox entered play on Wednesday with a 23-44 record, which had them last in the AL Central. They had won four of their last five games though, so maybe Pope Leo can bring them some good fortune.
