The Los Angeles Dodgers are eying their second-straight MLB World Series title. The billion-dollar franchise added several players to improve its roster and build a dynasty. Several MLB analysts and oddsmakers have predicted them to win the World Series in 2025. Yet, not everyone is convinced that a dynasty is in the making
MLB sportscaster Rob Packer delivered a bold prediction, casting doubt on the team’s chances to claim back-to-back titles. Packer has outlined the harsh reality, and fans will not be happy with the bold take. According to Packer, it’s hard to win back-to-back titles, and only two teams were able to achieve that goal.
“No way, no how…First of all it’s hard to repeat in baseball. The Dodgers were lucky to win last year. Had the Yankees won Game 5, the Dodgers had no pitching for Game 6 and Game 7. Too many things have to go right and too many people have to come back right and be like they were,” Packer said.
Packer mentioned that the New York Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds were the only teams to win back-to-back titles. With too many injuries piling up, the Boys in Blue are not going to have an easy run in 2025. Despite being huge favorites, it’s hard to tell if they will be able to win the World Series with teams like the Phillies, Mets, and Yankees performing well.
Dodgers Continue To Improve Their Current Roster
With several players on the injured list, the club is trying to improve its current roster. Recently, they parted ways with Chris Taylor because he was unable to perform well in the last couple of years.
The return of Teoscar Hernandez and Tommy Edman has made it difficult for the team to retain all players. Dave Roberts wants to win, and they have spent a lot of money this offseason to acquire top talent.
The Dodgers will continue to make changes and give opportunities to top-performing players. For those who don’t perform, the chances of remaining on the team are pretty slim. Los Angeles dropped its week 8 MLB power rankings after dropping a couple of games.
