Carson Beck is throwing footballs again following the injury that ended his season prematurely in 2024.
The quarterback is now with Miami after turning down the opportunity to return to Georgia, entering the transfer portal and remaining there only briefly before accepting a $4 million NIL deal from the Hurricanes following Cam Ward’s step up to the pros.
A few months ago, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal disclosed that Beck was nearing a return to throwing.
“He’s not throwing the ball yet,” he said. “But he’s very close to doing so.”
That was back in February. As of this week, Cristobal was singing a different tune, given the signal-caller’s progression.
“He’s good to go,” he declared. “He’s exceeding every benchmark.”
Carson Beck Splits The Opinion

Beck did not play in the program’s spring game but was seen celebrating with his teammates during the outing. He also hasn’t thrown the football to his new receivers in an official session.
Still, the former Bulldogs star has gotten his throwing arm warmed up ahead of his final season in college, posting a video to social media where he’s seen zipping a pass to someone downfield.

The clip split the opinion, with one user applauding and another claiming the throw was “not it.”

Not it.

Given how the 2025 NFL Draft went, with notable QBs in Shedeur Sanders and Quinn Ewers getting picked very late, Beck will have his work cut out for him and may have to work even harder to convince scouts of the value he could provide in the league.
Barring a setback, Carson Beck should be ready to go at the start of next season, with Miami scheduled to open 2025 against last term’s finalists, Notre Dame.
It’s going to be make or break for him in Miami, something he should be well aware of.
